I do look at sites and forums for Urban Explorers now and then, and sometimes their photos make me wonder why no one have moved in in the houses they show. Some buildings are far beyond repair, but some are still livable and could easily become a new home for someone (like myself) who need a new home but doesn't have the money, or credit, to buy a house.
Just to get of track for a moment. A couple of people have told me about houses that go for as little as a few dollars, just to get them sold... Where? I can't find a single one.
But back to the main topic. Abandoned buildings. I really do believe that we shoudl start a movement of people who doesn't allow houses to just rot and fall to pieces but demand that they should be made available for poeple who need a (new) home to move in and take care of. It is just common sense. To let these buildings become real ruins is a criminal waste of resouces. Don't you agree?

New communities for the finacially poor? How?
I have seen many posts about how people want to leave the establishes society and create new, self-sufficient and self-reliant communites where they live in harmony with nature. Is it just talk? I don't know as most of the people posting these thought live on other continents (mainly USA) and I don't know them and their lifestyle personally. But I am starting to get frustrated by all this talk, and no one actually posting that they have left for a "free life in nature."
To be honest, can one break away and live like that - without the money to legally buy a piece of land, that is? Here in Sweden I imagine it can be difficult as the land isn't very large to start with and it is only up in the north that there are large enough umpopulated areas of nature to "hide" in. If not, how can we who have no maney to buy land with, but may have the drive and knowledge to create such communites do it? One person I chatted with on a Swedish forum suggested that one go to another country that is larger and easier to disappear in. Hmm, witch country would that be? Russia maybe? That is close enough for many poor people to be able to get there. But honestly, who sould want to create a new independent community in Russia?
So the question remains. How do one who have the desire, knowledge and drive to actually start walking their talk do it? Do you have an idea? Or maybe you even know of an exisiting place that welcome newcomers? Feel free to share your knowledge.

Around the Campfire
Welcome to sit be the fire and rest for a while.
I have a Facebook group, and an online forum for discussion, and now a blog, all sharing the same name and theme - a new kind of New World Order.
When one hear those words - New World Order - it usually means something dark and bad. But it doesn't have to be like that at all. I prefer to use those words to make a statement of something positive and light filled, a new world order that stands for living in harmony with and respect for Mother Earth and all living things upon her. We are not the masters of the Universe, even though most of us seem to think so. We are just one group of all the children of Mother Earth, not better or worth more than any other clan that lives upon her. It is time that we remember that, and act in harmony with our brothers and sisters of the other clans. It is time to Walk the Talk, not just open our mouths and let words fly out but act on our beliefs and words.
Around the Campfire is created to be a place where people can gather and share their thoughts, ideas, experiences and knowledge, a place where the change can start. So welcome to any of these pages that share the same name and intention, be a part of the discussions, the sharing, and the learning.
